Johann Heinrich Samuel Thut (1837 – 1920) was a Son of Samuel Thut, a animal doctor in Oberentfelden (Thut line from Oberentfelden). He was married with Emilie Bertha Walther and founder of the brush factory in 1860.
In 1878 Samuel stopped his doing, because of some financial reasons (new building). In 1882 he become insolvent.
He brothers-in-law «Walther» resumed the factory successfully. It grew up to the well know scrubber facotry «Walther AG Bürstenfabrik» who had engaged 320 employees in 1945.
Samuel and his family emigrated to America and hope for a better life.
A descendant reported that he settled in Medford Wisconsin, 300 miles north-west of Chicago. It was a forest area, which was arrived by street in 1873. The climate was alike in Switzerland with more cold winters. The family buyed 80 acres land about 4 miles away of Medford.
First they had to clear forest land and many stones needed to be removed. They planted many fruit trees.
Friedrich, a Son of Samuel once went hunting with his brother Gottlieb. They separeted and Friedrich never came back home. In Spring they found his dead body next to a deers body. They might have been a fight.
Samuel died 1920 in Medford. Some of his descendants still live in Wisconsin.
